Industrial IoT Solutions

Turning traditional machines into smart, connected assets.

What are industrial IoT solutions?

Industrial IoT connects existing factory machines to sensors, an edge gateway, and a cloud dashboard so operators can see machine status, energy use, and fault conditions in real time. Avantix installs the sensors, builds the gateway integration, and delivers the dashboard and mobile alerts as one system โ€” typically retrofitting machines that were never designed to be connected.

The problem this solves

Most Malaysian factories run capable machines that produce no data. Breakdowns are discovered when production stops, energy bills arrive without any breakdown by machine, and maintenance runs on a fixed calendar rather than actual condition.

What you get out of it

  • Detect abnormal machine conditions before they cause unplanned downtime
  • Attribute electricity cost to the machines that actually consume it
  • Replace calendar-based servicing with condition-based maintenance
  • Produce ESG and energy reports from logged data instead of manual tallies

What Industrial IoT includes

Real-time machine monitoring

Live status, run hours, load, and fault states for each connected machine, updated every minute.

Energy consumption tracking

Per-machine kWh logging that turns a single factory electricity bill into a per-asset cost breakdown.

Predictive maintenance

Threshold and trend alerts on temperature, pressure, and vibration that fire before a failure stops production.

RS-485 / PLC integration

Modbus RTU and PLC register mapping to read data out of equipment that has no native cloud connectivity.

Edge gateway transmission

Local buffering and processing so data survives internet outages and is re-sent when the link returns.

Cloud analytics dashboards

Web dashboards with historical charts, shift comparisons, and exportable reports for management review.

1-minute logging systems

Minute-interval data capture giving enough resolution to see short cycles and transient faults.

OEE monitoring

Availability, performance, and quality tracked per line to produce a defensible OEE figure.

Products built on this service

These are systems we already run in production. Each one started as the same service, applied to a specific problem.

Industrial IoT โ€” common questions

Can Avantix monitor machines that have no built-in IoT capability?

Yes. Most equipment we connect was built long before IoT. We retrofit external sensors, or read existing PLC and controller registers over RS-485 Modbus, then send the data through an edge gateway. The machine itself is not modified in any way that affects its operation or warranty.

How long does an industrial IoT deployment take?

A focused deployment covering a handful of machines typically takes about two weeks from site survey to live dashboard, including hardware installation, gateway configuration, and dashboard setup. Larger multi-line rollouts are staged line by line.

What happens to the data if the factory internet goes down?

The edge gateway buffers readings locally and re-transmits them once connectivity returns, so the historical record has no gaps. This is why we place a gateway on site rather than sending sensor data straight to the cloud.

How often is machine data recorded?

Our standard logging interval is one minute. That resolution is fine enough to catch short cycles, pressure spikes, and transient faults, while keeping long-term storage costs manageable for multi-year historical analysis.
